Make Music New Haven Returns on June 21, 2021!

Make Music New Haven is returning on June 21, 2021, for Greater New Haven’s 4th Annual Make Music Day celebration. Due to COVID-19, our celebration will look different than it has in previous years. Our theme this year is Reinassance. We envision neighbors re-connecting, synergistic collaborations, and an abundance of joy.

How Can You Perform?

Performers can perform their concert live in person or live streamed virtually from home. For now, as you consider and plan for your 2021 concert please keep the following in mind. Provided that the on-the-ground, in-real-time situation continues to improve, we hope to present as many modestly scaled outdoor concerts as we can. All events will be in adherence to gathering restrictions and safety protocols provided by the Connecticut Department of Public Health and CDC. As  June 21 approaches we will continue to keep you updated, prepared, and safe according to the very latest information available. All Make Music events must be free. Masks and socially distancing is a requirement.

Creating your profile is short & sweet! Within minutes, you should have access to the Make Music New Haven match-making database. While creating your Performer profile remember to give us the full scoop, by including a headshot, bio, music samples, and social media tags,  you make it easier for interested host venues to learn all about your specific talents. This may encourage them to send you an invitation to play a concert from their venue or approve of your request to perform at their venue! After your profile has been set up, you can search for participating venues and send them requests to play. All additional needs and details can be worked out via direct message on the registration platform.

Who can participate as a host venue?

Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to host musicians from their outdoor space, sidewalks, backyards, storefronts, small shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, cultural institutions; community gardens; even your own porch, stoop, driveway, or lawn.

Please do not, however, create a Venue profile for a public park or plaza on your own initiative, as such spaces require special permits that must be secured directly by us. When you do see a public park or plaza Venue profile on the database, it was created by us and is available as stipulated. If you do not see your preferred park or plaza, please contact us at
