Yexandra Diaz
Chicago native and New Haven, CT resident, Yexandra "Yex" Diaz wears many hats. She is an Environmental Educator, Independent Facilitator, Lactation Counselor, Birth and Death Doula who serves her community as an advocate. Yex utilizes her voice for the voiceless, bridging gaps and building ties. A multifaceted artist,Yex uses a plethora of mediums for creative self expression from theater to dance and above all, storytelling. The art of spoken word acts as a vehicle for messages which raise awareness around social and environmental injustices. By marrying thought with speech, she is able to beautifully convey the pain and plight of marginalized communities of color.
