CT FOLK presents Rhythms from the Heart: a percussion / music ensemble with Billy Fischer, Michael Mills, Brian Jarawa Gray and Paul McGuire

Four master musicians will lead Rhythms from the Heart, an interactive program for our community in this CT Folk co-produced program. These musicians include drummers / percussionists Billy Fischer (also a folk and contra dance legend - http://www.billthedancecaller.com), Michael Mills and Brian Jarawa Gray, who all first performed with CT Folk at our 2017 annual folk festival. They will be joined by saxophonist / musician Paul McGuire.   This gathering of healing drums will present an opportunity for participants to share in creating soundscapes of percussion from different cultures. Bring a drum or percussion instrument if you have one; drums and other instruments will also be available. NO experience necessary!! ALL ages welcome!! Also, Open Mic = Open Doors, a program produced by Rich Arts Collective with Thabisa Rich, as funded by the City of New Haven, will directly precede this program, from 3:30 to 5:00 pm.
